Panini has stepped up to support grassroots football in the UK, providing the first-ever kit for the newly formed Inner London County Girls football team.

After several years of running successful boys’ representative squads, Inner London had previously been unable to launch a regular girls’ programme. That changed this season, with the first girls’ county team was officially formed , marking a significant milestone for the girls in the area looking to get into football.

Having previously played matches in borrowed kits, the girls were surprised with a brand new Panini-sponsored kit ahead of the season’s final stages. Complete with the Panini logo alongside the Inner London Schools badge.

Panini helps create new opportunities for aspiring female footballers in London

The Inner London County Girls team was created following successful trials across the area, offering talented players from local schools the opportunity to represent their county for the first time. The initiative gives young footballers, whether from academy or non-academy backgrounds, a shared platform to play together and compete at a high level.

As the only form of youth football in which academy and non-academy players can mix, school football offers a unique developmental environment. The Inner London girls’ team has already shown promise, reaching the semi-finals of their competition and gaining valuable match experience along the way.

In an Instagram post announcing the sponsorship Panini praised the dedication of coaches Richard and Andy, who have helped bring the project to life and have led the squad through a hugely successful first season.
